Brendan Maclean's album 'And the Boyfriends' marks a new chapter in his music career, and with it comes a fresh visual language to match the change. The album cover, digital single covers, touring posters, and social media posts were all carefully crafted to convey a sense of nostalgia for the analogue process of recording and film photography. Through the use of typography reminiscent of the 70s and 80s, the artwork captures the contrast between the surface-level happiness and the underlying depression and turmoil present in the album.
